350 grant

350 Grant:Every month, millions of unemployed South Africans rely on the R350 grant to access basic goods and services. Individuals can determine whether they will receive the grant in August by following a step-by-step guide on how to track your grant application.

According to the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa), millions of people are still applying for the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant. The grant, also known as the R350 grant, provides some financial assistance to unemployed South Africans.

It is estimated that 12 million people have applied for a Sassa online grant in the hope of receiving the R350 grant every month. While they are not required to reapply for the R350 grant on a monthly basis, Sassa will continue to evaluate R350 grant applications to ensure that everyone who applied for the grant is still eligible for the R350 grant.

Requirements for R350 Grant Qualifications

Unemployed South Africans are eligible for the R350 grant. South African citizens, asylum seekers, special permit holders, and refugees are all included.

To be eligible for the grant, these individuals must be between the ages of 18 and 59. Individuals over the age of 59 may apply for the Older Persons Grant, while those under the age of 18 may be eligible for the Child Support grant distributed by Sassa.

Prospective R350 grant recipients may not be receiving any government assistance. This includes other Sassa grants, Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) benefits, and funding from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS).

They may also be denied admission to a government institution.

The income threshold is one of the most important eligibility criteria introduced by Sassa for the R350 grant. Beneficiaries of the grant may not earn more than R624.

In this context of the SRD grant, income refers to the amount of money in an applicant’s bank account. If an applicant has more than R624 in their bank account, their R350 grant application will be rejected.

Individuals who meet the R350 grant eligibility requirements should be eligible for grant payments. They can find out if they will be paid by running a Sassa status check.
