Application for NSFAS for the 2023-2024 academic year can be made via the online application portal 2023-2024.

  1. To apply online, go to www.nsfas.org.za
  2. After that, you create an account with myNSFAS.

When the National Senior Certificate results are released in 2023, the NSFAS application system is expected to be open from September 28, 2022 to January 31, 2023.

  3. Eligibility for financial assistance is determined by an NSFAS evaluation of a student’s financial need.
  4. All students must demonstrate proven and acceptable academic performance (academically deserving) upon their return to the College in accordance with the College’s progress policy or the Bursary Rules and Guidelines (whichever is higher).
  5. Candidates should avoid enrolling in a qualification that duplicates previous state-funded learning.
  6. The maximum annual family income threshold is R350,000, and applicants who are admitted/receive a firm offer for college enrolment qualify.

The NSFAS Application 2023-2024 Reapplication and Registration Process

To apply and register online for 2023, applicants must create a myNSFAS account or re-register a myNSFAS account.

The following steps will guide you through the process:

  1. For more information, please go to www.nsfas.org.za.
  2. Go to the NSFAS website and click on “myNSFAS” in the upper right corner.
  3. On the myNSFAS page, you will see the following message: “Welcome to myNSFAS.”
  4. Enter your username (email address) and password to re-register your myNSFAS account.
  5. If you want to register, please click on “Register.” Please have a copy of your South African ID or unbridged birth certificate on hand before registering your profile.
  6. Please check the box if you want NSFAS to verify and validate your data with third parties.
  7. After that, enter your ID number exactly as it appears on your ID document.
  8. Fill in the blanks with your full name and surname as they appear on your ID card.
  9. Please enter your current   email address
  10. Check that your email address is correct.
  11. Check that your cellphone number is entered.
  12. Select a password that you prefer.
  13. Then you confirm your password.
  14. Make a copy of your ID and upload it.
  15. Please register to obtain a one-time password.
  16. Your email and phone number will be sent a One Time Pin (OTP) that will expire in 24 hours.

Is there a deadline for NSFAS applications for 2023?
